Castlevania: Belmont's Curse voice cast includes Netflix series stars Graham McTavish and Alejandra Reynoso
Konami has revealed the English voice cast for Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, and the line-up reads like a reunion of the Netflix animated series. The actor who voiced Dracula in the show, Graham McTavish, returns to play the lord of darkness in the game, while Alejandra Reynoso reprises her role as Sypha Belnades. Liam O’Brien, who voiced Isaac in Castlevania: Curse of Darkness, also returns to voice the same character.
McTavish is no stranger to video game voice work, having previously appeared in Killzone, Dragon Age: Origins, and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, as well as playing Doctor Doom in Marvel’s Midnight Suns. His portrayal of Dracula in the first two seasons of the Netflix adaptation was widely praised for its nuance, balancing the character’s monstrous, paternal, and grieving sides. He also voiced the main antagonist Arius von Enhrenberg in the second season of Devil May Cry.
The rest of the cast brings together a mix of returning franchise talent and newer faces. JB Blanc, who has nearly four decades of experience, takes on the role of Trevor Belmont. Blanc previously voiced Brauner in Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin and had multiple roles in Lords of Shadow. Abby Trott, known for her leading role as Momo Ayase in the anime Dandadan, voices Rose Belmont. Ray Chase, Erica Lindbeck, Melique Berger, Dawn M. Bennett, and Aaron LaPlante round out the cast as The Fallen, Joan of Arc, Medusa, Carmilla, and Death, respectively.
The game is set to launch on October 15 for PC and consoles, marking the franchise’s return after a long hiatus. It is being developed by Evil Empire, the studio behind The Rogue Prince of Persia, alongside Motion Twin. The release coincides with the 40th anniversary of the Castlevania series.
Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse was first announced earlier this year, and this latest update confirms that the project is drawing heavily on the voice talent that helped define the Netflix show’s identity. The choice to bring back McTavish as Dracula, in particular, signals a desire to maintain continuity with the animated series’ interpretation of the character, which was a highlight of the show’s early seasons.
